Lead V&V Engineer
Role Overview
We are seeking a Verification and Validation Engineer to own the testing strategy of the ABD Solutions autonomy stack. This will involve the development of highly automated test equipment to automatically verify all parts of the autonomy stack. These include functional, functional safety, and cyber security requirements
This role offers the exciting opportunity to work in a rapidly evolving and expanding field, applying novel technologies, techniques and measured to overcome complex challenges. This is a hands-on, fast-paced, collaborative development environment.
What will you be doing?
- Own the Validation and Verification Strategy for ABDS products, leading planning effort for each phase of the V&V life cycle.
- Derive test cases to demonstrate the functionality and robustness (edge cases testing, fault injection, failure mode testing) of sub-systems comprising actuators, controllers and software.
- Develop highly automated test equipment to automatically verify all elements of the autonomy stack.
- Undertake on-vehicle testing and evaluation at our test sites and at remote locations worldwide.
- Manage defect detection, tracking and resolution through JIRA and integrated toolchains.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor’s or master’s in software or mechatronics engineering, or equivalent experience in relevant engineering sector.
- Demonstratable experience designing system tests for commercial or automotive products, or industrial machinery.
- Expert knowledge of developing test applications in Python.
- Experience in integrating automated test harnesses to continuous build & test servers, such as Jenkins or TeamCity.
- Experience in robotics, electro/mechanical systems, industrial automation system.

Principal Systems and Software Architect
Role Overview
Reporting to the Senior Management team, you will work with the Engineering Team on the development, validation and implementation of our Autonomous Technology.
You will be providing expertise in software architecture, leveraging in depth knowledge of system and software modelling, protocols, databases and complex automation in regulated environments.
This role offers the exciting opportunity to work in a rapidly evolving and expanding field, applying novel technologies, techniques and measured to overcome complex challenges. This is a hands-on, fast-paced, collaborative environment
What will you be doing?
- Defining and maintain the overall system and software architecture for new and existing products ensuring compliance with agreed certification strategy and required industry standards
- Conducting technical discussions with prospective clients to provide product technical oversight, detail rational for system architecture, understand customer requirements and devise tailored engineering solutions.
- Leveraging in depth knowledge of system and software modelling, protocols, databases and complex automation in regulated environments.
- Establishing / owning the technical feasibility and appropriate design approaches and architecture for all engineering projects.
- Actively exploring new and complementary technologies engaging with external organisations to develop partnering opportunities.
- Providing input to key project and strategic initiatives, including new project ideas in alignment with the business/technology strategy.
What are we looking for?
- Doctorate or master’s degree in systems, software engineering, computer science or equivalent.
- Expert knowledge of modern C/C++ for embedded systems, and an understanding of MISRA C/C++, JSF or Google coding standards
- Expert knowledge of SysML
- Experience working to a defined MBSE process, combined with expert knowledge of UML.
- Expert knowledge of API development for both internal and public use.

Systems Engineer
Role Overview
As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the ownership and development of the Systems Definition for our retrofit autonomous systems. You will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality products that meet customer requirements and industry standards. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including hardware and software engineering, project management, applications engineering, and quality assurance, will be vital to your success.
What will you be doing?
- Drive the design and development of innovative off-highway autonomous test equipment systems to production.
- Implement redundancy strategies to enhance the robustness and reliability of our systems.
- Work closely with stakeholders to define and document system requirements, ensuring a clear understanding of functionality, performance, and safety criteria.
- Collaborate with Project Management team to plan, prioritise, manage resource allocation, and oversee project activities, ensuring adherence to schedules and budget constraints.
- Help develop and execute comprehensive testing plans, including functional, performance, and safety testing, to validate system behaviours under various conditions.
- Create comprehensive technical documentation for system requirements, design specifications, and test plans.
What are we looking for?
- A technical background – for example an Engineering Degree or related field.
- Proficiency in systems engineering tools and methodologies, such as SysML and requirements traceability.
- Familiarity with automotive standards, protocols, and test methodologies is highly desirable.
- Solid project management skills, with the ability to lead and coordinate multifunctional teams
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and debug complex systems.
